The water in the kettle has become more than 10°C hotter than the set temperature because:

• There is too little water in the kettle. To prevent overheating, always fill the kettle with at least 0.5 litres water
• There is too much scale in the kettle. Descale the kettle before you use it again (also see 'Descaling')

If the issue still persists, contact an authorized Philips service centre or the Customer Care Centre in your country.
