Fries can be made from almost any kind of potato. There are, however, some points to keep in mind to help you make your fries the absolute best.
Which potatoes are best for making fries in the Philips Airfryer?
To get the best results, keep the following in mind:
Use fresh, slightly floury potatoes
If you need to store the potatoes, do not store them in a cold environment, e.g. a fridge
Choose potatoes whose package states that they are suitable for frying
The Airfryer is able to fry and bake fresh potatoes very well. However, the potato variety you use determines the taste of the final dish.
We advise you to use one of the following potato varieties in the Airfryer:
- Bintje
- Caesar
- Challenger
- Folva
- Frisia
- Maris Piper
- Mona Lisa
- Turbo
- Victoria
Keep in mind:
The properties of potatoes change when they are stored over a longer period of time. Even if you use the same variety, the end result will vary throughout the year.
Differences in growing and storage conditions may result in colour and texture differences in the fries or baked potatoes.
